Tate Tucker has been featured by us before, but if you need a refresher he is a rising junior at Georgetown. One of my friends who goes to Georgetown alerted me to his music. This song samples a Beck song with the same title and really shows his lyrical abilities and laid back attitude. The production really takes advantage of the Beck sample while laying a funky beat over it. Don’t sleep on this kid, he is going places

Flosstradamus is the duo of two Chicago DJ’s/Producers J2K (Josh Young) and Autobot (Curt Cameruci) and these guys absolutely kill it. They incorporate elements of Hip-Hop, dubstep, electronic into some serious tunes. Some call it trapstep, but I think it is harder to classify. I’m going to post a few of my personal favorite Flosstradamus tunes for you to enjoy.
Original Don-Major Lazer (Flosstradamus Remix)
This is and absolute banger. Make sure you play it on some nice speakers or headphones for full effect.
This song combines rap lyrics, gentle vocals and sweeping synths for a truly chill track
This song is just absolutely ridiculous. Combine Lil Jon, Kernkraft 400 and Sandstorm and this is one rowdy fucking song.
Finally Total Recall has got hip-hop influences, great sampling and a progressive beat. Make sure you listen to this on good speakers or headphones to really appreciate the depth to this song.
Danny Brown is and independent rapper from Detroit Michigan. He is also one crazy dude and MTV described him as “one of rap’s most unique figures in recent memory.” Grown up is one of his more normal tracks and it is fire. the production has got an old school feel to it with scratching, sample cheering kids and mellow keyboards. The lyrics are playful, but still have substance.
Slightly Stoopid is another great summer band to chill out to. This song has more of a down tempo type beat with some scratching and a catchy guitar riff and their distinctive lyrical sound. Throw this on in the car, roll down the windows and enjoy the drive.
Viceroy is a a producer from San Francisco California who’s motto is “Summertime, All the Time”. His music certainly feels like audible summer and I am sure most of you have heard the Wiz Khalifa-This Plane remix. So I’m gonna gift you two new Jet Life remixes to bump at your next pool party.
This song is a remix of Will Smith’s Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It. While Will Smith’s quote rapping talents unquote may be less than stellar this song is funky, carefree and a perfect summer jam.
Here is another happy go lucky summer tune from Viceroy, catchy and upbeat. Download it and hit the beach.
The Brooklyn based electronic duo, Break Science released their second EP entitled Monolith Code on the Pretty Lights Music Label at the begging of 2012. Forrest of Illumination is from that EP. As seasoned producers and touring veterans, Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee are definitely doing big things with their music. On Monolith Code, Break Science mixes and matches wide range of electronic elements very similar to Pretty Lights. This track features a wobbly dub type bass line, but is a little more upbeat than your typical dubstep song. There is a good vocal sample and soaring synths. You can get the whole Monolith Code EP free from the Pretty Lights Music label site.
Here is a song to rage to this Saint Patrick’s Day weekend. This track has nice synths, vocals and just goes fucking hard. Download. Rage. Repeat.
