From the Jurassic 5, Ozomatli, and Galactic MC, comes a solo album with some serious jive and funk. This particular track is produced by DJ Nu-Mark, a very talent Hip-Hop/ Glitch-Hop producer and this beat is super fat. Check this track out for an old school sound and some classic raps. New release from J. Cole, who will also be performing at Lollapalooza. After hearing this, I hope I get to hear it live. Check it out no doubt.
With all the classic Hip-Hop being posted recently, I figured to post a new school song with an old school sound. This remix of Classic has one of the fattest beats I’ve heard and the credit goes to DJ Premier from Houston, TX. One of the best, if not the best, Hip-Hop DJs of all time. He was a half of the duo Gangstarr for 12 years and has produced unbelievable tracks. Here is just another beautiful craft from Premier with some heavy hitters delivering the verses. Check it out for sure.
Off the sophomore album from the queens bridge menace. Nasty Nas in your area, 1996. Check it out. Real Hip-Hop. Shout out to chaz.
Tate Tucker has been featured by us before, but if you need a refresher he is a rising junior at Georgetown. One of my friends who goes to Georgetown alerted me to his music. This song samples a Beck song with the same title and really shows his lyrical abilities and laid back attitude. The production really takes advantage of the Beck sample while laying a funky beat over it. Don’t sleep on this kid, he is going places
Off the Canadian MC’s first album, A Sample and A Drum Machine, from 2002, Universal Love is an instant classic. With a horn sample from All You Need Is Love by the Beatles and some heart-felt lyrics from both parties, this is definitely one cut to keep in your records and fits the chill scene or party vibe. Check it out for sure if you dig real Hip-Hop.
D-Shade- “If you got nothing good to say why bother speak?/ I hear image is everything and talk it cheap”
As stated on the cover here are a couple of, “New! Trill Compositions and Summertime Swag”, and after listening to these songs when they dropped yesterday, I have to say I can’t disagree. Check these out for a new sounding Hip-Hop with some impressive sampling and basslines. These guys definitely know what they are doing. Hip-Hop heads grab this one for sure.
