To end the night, or more accordingly, to start the day, here is a laid back song from TRAILS AND WAYS to throw on while you are drifting between your destinations this late summer and fall. If you need a hint toward an appropriate setting for playing this track just take a look at the album cover and then take a listen…You should find your mind in a good place. Just a little something refreshing for all my hippie-folk down in New Orleans.
Starting now at Beats From the Barn we will be posting “Elastic Classics”. Otherwise known as classic tunes that when you hear them they ‘snap’ back because they are so classic. Check this one out from E.L.O. and get in the old school groove!
With floating marimba melodies and chilling vocals, this track from Misun is definitely one to check out. If you’re into that whole indie/ pop/ rock/ electronic sort of thing, this is that. Give it a look and dive in to the sea.
With a laidback beat, chill guitar riff and some nice vocals, this track from the Massachusetts duo is a bonafide summer jam. Coming as one of many hits off their new album The Bright Side, get some sun and bump it loud before summertime is over.
AWOLNATION is an electronic rock band from L.A. currently signed to Red Bull Records. I first heard this song in a ski movie called Attack of La Niña by Matchstick productions and the synthed-out strings and piano go perfectly with skiers flying through a powdery white backdrop of mountains. If you like this song then check out their entire EP, Back From Earth, on their website here. Otherwise, listen to this track for its catchy rhythm and crafty orchestration. Check it out.
Well for a change of pace here at BeatsFromTheBarn, here is a funky feel-good indie rock jam from The Cat Empire. Cat Empire is an australian band whose music spans genres such as indie, alternative, ska, and rock and roll. While I am usually not a fan of these genres and their respective products, this song has some nice horn samples and a unique sound, especially the vocals. If you trust our judgment here at BeatsFromTheBarn, then give this song a try and you might see more of the same later on…check it out…
