More summer fueled indie shit. Wildcat! Wildcat! gives this song a nice piano riff which is accompanied by sweeping vocals and solid drum line. Also has a killer saxophone rip. All in all, this is a song you will want in your library. Just listen to it. Feel good summer tune.

Mtn Tune- TRAILS AND WAYS
To end the night, or more accordingly, to start the day, here is a laid back song from TRAILS AND WAYS to throw on while you are drifting between your destinations this late summer and fall. If you need a hint toward an appropriate setting for playing this track just take a look at the album cover and then take a listen…You should find your mind in a good place. Just a little something refreshing for all my hippie-folk down in New Orleans.

Fineshrine- Purity Ring
Purity Ring are an indie/ electronic band formed in Montreal, Canada in 2010. This song is the second single released off their debut album which dropped July 24th. This song is textbook indie/ electronic with high sweeping synth lines and numbing vocals but the deep wavering bass is what makes this song unique and different. Check out these Canadians while supplies last. Props to my boy Christian for the tip, and for your own sake, please listen on quality speakers.

The Sea- Misun
With floating marimba melodies and chilling vocals, this track from Misun is definitely one to check out. If you’re into that whole indie/ pop/ rock/ electronic sort of thing, this is that. Give it a look and dive in to the sea.

Lollapalooza 2012 preview
With Lollapalooza a mere 8 days away and so many dope artists to see, I thought I’d give you some of my favorite tracks from artists that will be performing in Grant Park from August 3rd-5th. First here is the official line-up video from the Lollapalooza website. Enjoy.
Now for some of the best tracks from my favorite artists that will be attending Lollapalooza 2012 which seems to have a pretty electro-heavy line up with some big names in dubstep. However, Lollapalooza is so great because of the diversity and variety of shows you can see, here are just a few.
Download Journey of a Lifetime
Download Intro (feat. Zola Jesus)
Download Lights (Bassnectar remix)
Download In For The Kill (Skream’s Let’s Get Ravey Remix)
Download Icypoles (Star Slinger dreamix)
Thanks for looking and if you are lucky enough to be going to Lollapalooza 2012, then I’ll see you there.

Fiction in 4 Moves- Xylos
From this electronic/indie/disco/dance group comes a particularly funky track that is reminiscent of 80s dance halls. This cut will take you up, down, back, and all the way around while serenading you with a soft voice. Check it out for something fresh!

The Cat Empire- Falling
Well for a change of pace here at BeatsFromTheBarn, here is a funky feel-good indie rock jam from The Cat Empire. Cat Empire is an australian band whose music spans genres such as indie, alternative, ska, and rock and roll. While I am usually not a fan of these genres and their respective products, this song has some nice horn samples and a unique sound, especially the vocals. If you trust our judgment here at BeatsFromTheBarn, then give this song a try and you might see more of the same later on…check it out…
